Description of Sites

There are 7 sites used in sampling College Brook. They are:

  1. CB0: Just past the culvert that goes underneath Mast Road near the U.S. Forestry building **
  2. CB1: At the end of Boulder Field, just before the culvert where College Brook goes under the access road
  3. CB2: At the culvert just before entering the railroad tracks
  4. CB3A: A small drainage stream that drains into College Brook just before the railroad tracks **
  5. CB4: The Spaulding culvert as it emerges from the building
  6. CB5: Underneath the overhang of the Memorial Union Building
  7. PB1: Pettee Brook sample for comparison to College Brook; located above the New England Center at the emergence of the culvert which passes under Emerson road

**CB0 and CB3A are both new sites and are not included in the old data. CB3 was included in the old data, but is now below Rudman Hall.

The campus Sustainability Program and WRRC have funded a long term water quality monitoring program to ascertain the ecological health of the College Brook watershed and the UNH campus.
